Top book: Deep End by Ali Hazelwood*
*not including my reread of Out on a Limb
So I read Deep End in an evening. Devoured it. Loved it. Love Ali Hazelwood.
Lukas was a DREAM!!! Up there with Adam as my favourite Ali man (unfortunately Adam still has my heart!).
Ali writes such beautiful complicated characters and I will never not adore her FMC. Scarlett, be well my love. Though there were moments where I wanted to shake her silly (TALK TO THE MAN!!!)
Almost a 5 star but (controversially) I felt there was too much sex and it sometimes replaced needed communication.
But if you like spice, Ali Hazelwood, sport romances, college romances and hot Swedish men then read it right now.
General thoughts:
What a bizarre month. I've felt the whole time like I've barely been reading and then BAM suddenly it is 8 books? When did that happen.
It's been a wonderfully 'new book boyfriends' month for me. Christian Allister from The Maddest Obsession had me SCREAMING, KICKING MY FEET and then pair him with the MEN that are Bo and Lukas Blomqvist, I've not quite know what to do with myself.
Biggest disappointment: The Darkest Temptation. Beyond even a dark romance, just a capture/Stockholm syndrome type story. He SAs her at about 35% and I'm not about that. Danielle you were SO close to the perfect trilogy end!! How was he Christian's brother? I then went down a rabbit hole of the 'who did this to you' trope and read Broken. So much potential but soooo long.
Recommendations: Deep End and Out on a Limb. If you like Mafia romance, The Darkest Temptation.
Month rating: 3.5/5
